September 2, 2011: Today was finally the first day of school for the girls. Monday and Wednesday were canceled because of no power in town due to Hurricane Irene. I was a nervous wreck again taking them in. Casey seemed more nervous than Julia but once we took her into her old classroom she jumped right into it. At pick up Mrs Pietro said she was great and was a helper. Julia's drop off was not as easy, for me. She seemed fine but I wished the teachers in her classroom were more hands on to distract her and get things going. Anyways, there were no tears but the teacher told us she did cry once during the day for us but they were able to quickly calm her down.
