This year was the first time we stayed home and had Christmas at our house. We visited LaLa and Eddie in Greenwich for a few days before and will head to Boston tomorrow for a few days, but I wanted to start our own traditions at our house now that the kids are getting older. Christmas as a parent is tough...you do so much work and put in a lot of time and effort to try and create a "perfect" christmas morning, and it never plays out that way. The kids hate some gift you thought they would love, they love everything for what seems like a minute and then its back to whining and arguing. On top of everything everyone was sick this Christmas. Julia and Molly have double ear infections, all three have conjunctivitis in both eyes, colds, fevers, etc.
Before Christmas Santa came to Taft and the kids were excited. They did not want to sit on his lap but ended up doing it. Casey is so fun this Christmas as she is fully believing and buying in to the whole thing. She asks me a million questions about anything I tell her, such as, "can the elves just see us or hear us too?". We made Christmas cookies and Casey is really the best age for this sort of stuff. Casey got a princess outfit and she has not taken it off since opening it. Is she really my child?!
