October 9, 2007: The 5 month mark has come and gone for Casey. She celebrated it by watching her Dad compete in his first triathlon. The solid foods have been going pretty well. She likes the rice cereal and enjoyed the carrots. We tried her on peas this week and they did not go over quiet as well. She gags and makes funny faces-see pictures. The first night we tried them, most of what went in was spit back out, but we stuck with it and she has started to accept them more and more. Other than the food the major changes are just in her development and coordination. She has started to actually jump up and down when she is in her jumping seat, she is able to grab a lot of things and play with them more intently. She is able to get herself onto her hands and knees and hold that position and rock a little bit. She is more vocal and makes little high pitched singing noises. She is also doing a funny thing with her lips now. She loves riding in her forward facing stroller so she can see the world. Other big news is that we moved her into her own room a few nights ago. We just keep the doors open and do not use a monitor. It has been going well so far. She does not seem to notice, now I just need to get used to the idea. Casey is headed to Greenwich this weekend to get baptised. We'll update again after that.
